I am a lover of sleep and usually I am a “head hits the pillow and I die until morning” kind of sleeper. Pregnancy sleeping now means that I lie awake trying to find a comfortable position and since lying on my front is now out of the question and very uncomfortable it takes forever to fall asleep. You would think that would be the end of it, but no, I get comfortable and then I wake up in the middle of the night, several times a night, for no reason but apparently to watch my darling husband sleeping the night away – oh no I’m not bitter….much and let’s not even talk about the peeing, which is only going to get worse as time goes on.
As you can tell I get cranky without my sleep and if I don’t start sleeping soon, let’s just say it won’t be pretty! My current theory is that because I have cut my exercise down, I am not as tired at night time, so I may start doing some exercises or yoga before I go to bed and I have to say I was inspired by this cool infographic I found, while scouring the depths of Pinterest at 3am, to look into my eating before bed too! The infographic was the reason for this whiny post, so that if, like me, you are struggling with pregnancy sleeping you may find some sort of relief soon or these ideas might help!
I will keep you posted on my sleeping during pregnancy and if I crack the case then I will DEFINITELY be writing a post about it, for no other reason than to remind myself how I did it!

I used to sleep with a pregnancy pillow wrapped around me, and a memory foam wedged behind my back. I naturally sleep on my stomach though, so couldn’t wait to get back into my normal position once my girls were born. x
I remember that awful lack of sleep in the third trimester so well! I tried everything I could think of and nothing really worked however it did inspire me to start a blog so that’s kind of a win! Hehe x
I suffered from horrendous heartburn when pregnant and basically had to sleep sitting up, it was horrible.
Oh god I remember those days all too well.
I always read so many posts of pregnant ladies not being able to sleep and it’s so daunting!
It’s all gonna be worth it in the end 🙂
Shelley xoxo
Oh I remember it well! If I slept on my back, Pickle would lie on a nerve which would make my legs numb! It was agony. Kaz 🙂
Awww, I can’t imagine having a lack of sleep but know that day will come! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy xx
I’ve been dealing with the same issue for the last few weeks (I’m currently 31 weeks pregnant) and it’s getting me really annoyed! I cannot get comfortable and I’ve tried all the advice such as pregnancy pillows etc. I just want some sleep!
As another lover of sleep, I feel for you! But it will definitely be worth it all in the end:-) XO
